Intel has recently announced that it will stall its Quad Core Intel Core
i7 940, 965 chips for retail availability. After that hiccup, Intel’s new Quad Core processors from Core i7 family showed up at the retail level sites
PCs for all and try Tage. Intel Core i7 950 and Core i7 Extreme 975 is expected to replace the Core i7 940 and Core i7 Extreme 965 respectively.
Intel’s decision to discontinue the Intel Core i7 Extreme 940 and 965 certainly shocked the enthusiasts and gamers. Intel’s Core i7 processors based on 45nm Nehalem architecture that integrates the memory controller for faster communication between the core and memory processes. New 45nm Nehalem Quad Core Intel Core i7 950 listed on PCs for all will be clocked at 3.06GHz with 8MB of L3 cache shares, and will support the LGA 1366 socket based motherboard. This processor will operate between 0.80V-1.375V voltage range and have 130W thermal power pack rating.

The Core i7 950 CPU to replace the 2.93GHz Core i7 940 CPU that comes with the same - 8 MB shared L3 cache, 0.80V-1.375V voltage range and 130W thermal power pack rating. So basically, the Core i7 950 listed for $ 649 (Rs. 31,000 approx.) Chip provides a higher frequency with an estimated cost difference of $ 90 (Rs. 4300 approx.) So the Core i7 940 is listed for $ 559 (Rs. 26,900 approx.) at Newegg.com.

Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 runs at a clock speed was already discovered in February. This Extreme 975 CPU to replace the out going 965 Extreme CPU clocked at 3.2GHz, 8 MB shared L3 cache, voltage range 0.85V 1.3625V and thermal design power of 130W. Now coming Extreme 975 has exactly the same specifications, but with a higher clock speed. In terms of prices on the Core i7 Extreme 975 is listed for $ 1129 (Rs. 54,000 approx.) Against Extreme 965 listed for $ 999 (Rs.48, 000 approx) at NewEgg.com.

As listed on PCs For Everyone website, these new processors are expected to start / arrive at the end of this month - on May 31.
